Owned and operated by Mahina Gannet, PMP®, the company reflects her values of integrity, humility, and inclusiveness.
But Gannet also knows how to hustle. As a teenager, Gannet started bussing tables at restaurants in her hometown, Morris Plains, NJ, and has been in the restaurant industry ever since.
After graduating from NYU’s Stern School of Business, Gannet immediately dove into live music events. An internship at Superfly during her senior year led to 14 years as an independent contractor in artist relations, tour management, and hospitality management. Gannet’s first gig at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in 2006 led to almost a decade working artist relations at the nation’s top music festivals including Governors Ball Music Festival, Outside Lands, and Moogfest. Gannet then moved into tour management for Neko Case and worked as production crew for international acts including Death Cab for Cutie, Jack Johnson, Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow, and MGMT.
While freelancing in live music production, Gannet could never shake the restaurant bug. Server, bartender, bar manager – it was a social, lucrative, and delicious way to spend time between gigs. Most importantly, it gave her just enough confidence to start her own restaurant. In 2015, Gannet and two friends opened Momona, a noodle and bao restaurant in downtown Chico. Acting as owner and General Manager initially, she eventually moved out of the day-to-day operations after the restaurant systems were established.
After her first daughter arrived, Gannet’s traveling freelance work in the music industry turned into her first, full-time local gig in their hometown of Chico, California. For the next six years, Gannet worked for the local craft giant, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., as their Onsite Events Manager and Guest Experience Manager, managing their onsite 500-cap music venue, private events, tour program, and retail program.
Starting GPM in 2024, Gannet is taking her decades of experience in live event production and restaurants, and wrapping it up in GPM: a way to bring clients something unique in event and hospitality management services.
