Momona 2.0

Established in 2015, Momona is a noodle and bao restaurant located in downtown Chico, California. After five years in their original location, the owners knew the success of their business depended on improving their location, streamlining their operation, and adding key business features including a full bar and outdoor space.

The owners identified a new location that was built-to-suit. With a construction management team and an architect firm, they designed a new space to include an expanded kitchen, full bar, take-out window, and indoor/outdoor patio space.

After 6-months of design and almost 18-months of construction, Gannet and the team moved and rebuilt the restaurant, including equipment procurement, moving their previously 1,900-square foot footprint into a now 3,500-square foot space, redesigning their menus, and doubling the size of their team.

Momona 2.0 (re)opened in July of 2023 and the project successfully created a new, but familiar space, established linear, cost-effective kitchen and bar operations, nearly doubled their bar sales, and offers guests an outdoor environment they can enjoy all year long.
